IT IS ONE OF THE NICEST FREE PARKS ON THE EAST COAST. IT HAS A FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD TYPE VIBE TO IT, AND WE AT KP ARE VERY AGGRESSIVE AND DETERMINED TO KEEP TROUBLE AWAY FROM THE PARK. ALL AGES AND SKILL LEVELS ARE WELCOME. THERE IS A 3 FOOT MINI RAMP WITH A SPINE, A 6 FOOT HALF PIPE WITH 1 FOOT EXTENSIONS ON BOTH SIDES. A WAVE WITH KINKED HANDRAIL, A 13 FOOT VERT QUARTER, A BANK TO WALLRIDE, A BANK TO LEDGE, A FUNBOX WITH A HUBBA, A CIRCULAR HAND RAIL, A SQUARE FLAT BAR AND HIPS. A 4 FOOT QUARTER, A 6 FOOT QUARTER, AND A 3 STAIR LEDGE THAT WE RECENTLY ADDED. THERE ARE SODA MACHINES, WATER FOUNTAIN, AND PORT-A-JOHNS. GRAFFITTI AND LITTERING ARE HUGE NO-NO'S THAT YEILD SERIOUS REPURCUSSIONS IF CAUGHT.
OVERALL, FUN PARK, FUN VIBE, AND ALWAYS SOME TALENTED LOCAL RIPPERS. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CALL US HERE AT THE SHOP. 843-524-7873. WE'LL KEEP IT WAXED AND READY TO SHRED FOR YA!
I live in Hampton, SC about 45 minutes from Port Royal and there isn't a Skatepark here. I was wondering if BMX was allowed at the Skatepark. I love BMX and wish to ride somewhere close by. Please let me know if it is allowed or not. nhdunehw@mail.com
ReplyDeleteWho is in charge of this skate park? The Port Royal Staff clean it up during the week but do a half butt job. Suggestions are made to the Port Royal City Manager but it is evident he could care less. Surely, there has to be someone you can go to...

We drove over from the Rincon / Guyton, GA area & it is our first time here with our grandson, Morgan, age 11. It is quite a delight watching him enjoying his scooter and skateboard on these ramps!
We are impressed and it was worth the drive for this park! For it's age, construction and size, it is a good find. There are a few minor maintenance things that need to be done, but overall the ramps and edges are in good shape. The lighting is a definite benefit!
Thank you, Port Royal!
Is the park open today with this storm?
ReplyDeleteCan you roller skate at this park?
ReplyDeleteI Love and am grateful for this park but man shit needs some maintenance mainly some steel plates, copings, and warped wood. Also the roof b leaking in some spots n when we finna move on from the old ass cafeteria lights get some LED n save some electricity n leave the lights on longer for folks who work nights n wanna blow off steam once they get off

ReplyDeleteđǧ In case anyone still wants to know or hasn't gotten any answers to the questions I saw as I scanned through the comments:
đ¸✴️• Yes. Yes to it all. Pretty much, as far as I know right now, anyway. Unfortunately, I haven't had the pleasure of spending any time out there in the last few years BUT yea,
𸕠boards, bikes, scooters, roller blades, unicycles, wheelchairs..♿. I've seen it all out there.
đ¸✴️ As long as you're treating the space and equipment with respect..đŽ i.e. dirty it= clean it,
damage or break it = fix it ( or at the very least, leave a flippin note with your contact info and offer to help in some fashion) plz don't blast music w/profanities so loud that the Littles playing over at the ship go home with new, less-than-desirable vocabulary words to share with kindy this week, eh?
𸕠Speaking of the Littles and Littlest of the skatepark participants, WATCH OUT FOR THEM!! đ Be the Dude that you wished was there lookin out for you when you first started skating! If you can, let them go first. if they fall - ask if they're good đđģ but LOW-KEY don't pour more humiliation salt into that embarrassment wound.đ️ Just do the right things and enjoy this beautiful, badass Park that's FREE might I add/remind you.
